Restylane

How Does Restylane Work?

Restylane is a hyaluronic acid-based facial filler. Restylane adds volume, and fullness to the skin to correct wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth, known as nasolabial folds. It helps increase the volume and definition of your lips.

Restylane was designed to treat moderate to severe wrinkles with mid to deep implantation into the facial tissues, it acts like your body’s own hyaluronic acid to visibly reduce facial folds.

The best part about Restylane is that results could be seen immediately. Is Restylane better than Juvederm? Both are outstanding choices as facial fillers and are very identical in their efficacy. The decision between Juvederm and Restylane is made based on patient and doctor preference.

The most common areas treated with Restylane are:

  • Under the eyes
  • Lips
  • Marionette lines
  • Laugh lines
  • Crow’s feet
  • Sad mouth corners
  • Chin

What are the possible side effects of injectable fillers?

The most common side effects include but are not limited to, temporary injection-site reactions such as redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is 7 days or less. Just like any skin-injection procedure, there is a rare risk of infection.
